Park History: How Florala City Park Began
Florala City Park has been around for a long time! It was first opened in the early 1900s. By 1909, the city of Florala was already managing the park.
Changes in Management
For many years, the city of Florala took care of the park. Then, in 1971, the state of Alabama took over its management. This meant it became known as Florala State Park.
However, in 2015, the park went back to being managed by the city. This happened because the state had some money problems and decided to close a few of its state parks. Florala City Park was one of the parks that returned to local control.
