Early Life and Career Start
Florence Foresti grew up in Vénissieux, France. In high school, she studied literature and theater. After high school, she went to a film school in the city of Lyon. She even appeared on a French TV show called Thalassa.
At age 20, Florence tried a course in classical theater but decided it wasn't for her and left after only two days. She worked a few different jobs, like for an electric company and as a computer graphics artist. But she never gave up on her dream of performing.
First Steps on Stage
In 1998, Florence started performing comedy. She joined an all-female comedy group called Les Taupes Models. The name was a funny play on the words "Top Models." The group toured around France and became popular. Another famous comedian, Anne Roumanoff, noticed them and asked them to perform at the beginning of her show. This was a big break for Florence's career.
Becoming a Comedy Star
In 2001, Florence created her first one-woman show. It was called Manquerait plus qu'elle soit drôle, which means "The only thing missing is for her to be funny." The show was a big hit and won an award at a festival in Antibes.
She became even more famous by appearing on popular French TV shows. She played silly and memorable characters that made people laugh.
Famous Shows and Hosting
In 2005, she started her second one-woman show, Florence Foresti fait des sketchs ("Florence Foresti Does Sketches"). After her daughter, Toni, was born in 2007, she also acted in a play called L'Abribus.
From 2009 to 2011, she performed a show called Mother.... She said the title was inspired by her hero, the singer Madonna. Florence wanted the show to be about the challenges of being a mother and a performer at the same time.
In 2012, she put on a huge show called the "Foresti Party" in Lyon and Paris. The final show was even broadcast live in movie theaters.
In 2016, Florence was chosen to host the 41st César Awards, which are like the French version of the Oscars.
