Florin Gardoș is a former professional football player from Romania. He was born on October 29, 1988, in Satu Mare. Florin played as a centre back, which is a defensive position in football. He played for several clubs during his career, including Steaua București and Southampton. He also represented his country, Romania, in international matches.

Early Life and Start in Football

Florin Gardoș was born in the city of Satu Mare in Romania. He began his senior football career with Concordia Chiajna in 2006. In his first season with the club, he helped them get promoted to the second division of Romanian football.

Playing for Steaua București

On June 17, 2010, Gardoș moved to Steaua București, a very famous club in Romania. He played his first game for them on August 16, in a Liga I match. In September 2011, Gardoș was sidelined for a period after an incident during a match. He returned to play many more games for Steaua.

Time at Southampton

On August 14, 2014, Gardoș signed a four-year contract with the English club Southampton. The transfer fee was around €7.5 million. He made his first appearance for Southampton on September 13, coming on as a substitute in a 4–0 win against Newcastle United. His first start was on September 23 in a League Cup game against Arsenal.

In July 2015, Florin suffered a knee injury during a friendly game. This meant he couldn't play for about seven months. He finally returned to the first team in January 2017.

Joining Universitatea Craiova

On February 19, 2018, Gardoș joined Universitatea Craiova on loan. He made his debut for them on March 31. After his contract with Southampton ended, he decided to stay with Universitatea Craiova and signed a two-year deal.

Florin Gardoș also played for the Romanian national team. He made his first appearance for Romania in a friendly game against Ukraine on February 8, 2011. He played a total of 14 matches for his country.
