The First Ford Focus (1998–2004)

The very first Ford Focus cars were made in late 1998. They came in different styles:

A 3-door hatchback (a small car with a back door that swings up)
A 5-door hatchback (the same, but with two back doors for passengers)
A saloon (a car with a separate boot)
An estate (a car with a long, wagon-like back for more space)

For a short time, Ford also made the older Escort car next to the Focus. In 2001, the Focus got some updates. It received new front lights, a new bumper, and different seats inside. This first Focus was very popular because of its cool look and how fun it was to drive.

The Second Ford Focus (2004–2011)

The second version of the Ford Focus arrived in late 2004. It was available in the same body styles as the first generation. In early 2008, this model also got a refresh. It had new front lights, a new bumper, and a new grille.

This second generation was special because it was the only one to have a hard-folding convertible model. This meant the roof could fold down, letting you enjoy the open air.

The Third Ford Focus (2011–2018)

Ford launched the third generation of the Focus in early 2011. This time, the 3-door hatchback was no longer offered. Instead, you could choose from:

A 5-door hatchback
A saloon
An estate

In late 2014, this Focus model also received updates. It got new front lights, a new bumper, and a new grille, giving it a fresh look.

The Fourth Ford Focus (2018–Present)

The fourth and most recent generation of the Ford Focus came out in summer 2018. This was exactly 20 years after the very first Focus was launched! It is available as a hatchback, saloon, and estate.
