Forkland, Kentucky facts for kids
Forkland is a small, quiet community located in the southwestern part of Boyle County, Kentucky, in the United States. It sits right next to a stream called the North Rolling Fork. This area is also part of the larger Danville Micropolitan Statistical Area, which means it's connected to the nearby city of Danville.
The Story of Forkland
People started settling in the Forkland area around the year 1800. The name "Forkland" was used very early on. It likely came from its location near the "fork" of the North Rolling Fork stream.
For a short time, from 1891 to 1905, Forkland even had its own post office. This post office might have been a little further east. It was possibly near where another stream, Hungry Neck Fork, joins the main river.
