Francesc Burrull (born October 18, 1934 – died August 28, 2021) was a talented Spanish jazz musician and composer. He was known for his amazing piano skills and for creating beautiful music. In 2017, he received a very special award called the Creu de Sant Jordi, which is one of the highest honors in Catalonia, Spain.
Early Life and Music Studies
Francesc Burrull started his music journey by studying at a famous school in Barcelona. It was called the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Gran Teatro del Liceo. His teacher there was Pere Vallribera i Moliné. After finishing his studies in music and piano, Francesc Burrull quickly became well-known in Barcelona's music scene. Barcelona had a very active and lively jazz community, which was perfect for his talents.
