Francesca Rossi (born December 7, 1962) is a computer scientist from Italy. She works at IBM Research in New York, USA. She is an IBM Fellow and helps lead IBM's work on AI ethics around the world.

Learning and Career

Francesca Rossi studied computer science at the University of Pisa in Italy. She earned her first degrees in 1986 and her PhD in 1993. After finishing her studies, she taught at the University of Pisa until 1998.

Later, she moved to the University of Padua, where she became a full professor by 2001. She taught there until 2018. In 2015, she joined IBM Research. She became an IBM Fellow in 2020, which is a very high honor for a scientist at IBM.

Francesca Rossi is very interested in AI. She studies how computers can solve difficult problems, learn from data, and make smart decisions.
