Francis was the only son of Sir John Eyles, 2nd Baronet. His mother was Mary Haskins Stiles. He inherited his family's title and lands.

A New Name

Francis changed his name because of his uncle, Benjamin Haskins Styles. His uncle lived at Moor Park in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. When his uncle passed away in 1739, he left his property to Francis. As part of his uncle's will, Francis added "Stiles" to his last name. This is how he became Sir Francis Haskins Eyles-Stiles.

Sir Francis was a respected person in his time. He was involved in important groups and managed his family's wealth.

Royal Society Member

In 1742, Sir Francis became a Fellow of the Royal Society. This is a very old and famous group of scientists. Being a Fellow means he was recognized for his interest in knowledge and science.

Becoming a Baronet

On March 11, 1745, Sir Francis became the 3rd Baronet in his family. This title was passed down from his father.

Sir John Haskins Eyles-Stiles was born on April 16, 1741. He became a Baronet after his father died. Sadly, he passed away young, at age 27, on November 1, 1768. He was buried at St Helen's Bishopsgate. Sir John never married, so when he died, the Baronetcy title ended. There was no one left to inherit it.

Sir Francis's Daughter

Sir Francis and Sibella had a daughter named Mary. She was born on January 16, 1745. Mary married her cousin, Philip Egerton, who lived at Oulton, Cheshire. Her husband passed away in 1786. Mary lived until December 1821. She was the mother of Sir John Grey Egerton, 8th Baronet.
