Francisco Moreno-Fernández has a high-level degree called a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics, which means he is an expert in the Spanish language. He is an Honorary Professor of Spanish Language at the University of Alcalá in Spain. He is also an Alexander von Humboldt professor at Heidelberg University in Germany.

Important Roles and Research

Since 2022, he has been the Director of the Observatorio Global del Español at the Instituto Cervantes. This observatory helps study and promote the Spanish language around the world. He also leads the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS), which focuses on countries where Spanish and Portuguese are spoken.
