Francisco Núñez Olivera (born December 13, 1904 – died January 29, 2018) was known for a short time as the oldest man in the world. He lived to be 113 years and 47 days old. Francisco was born in a place called Extremadura in Spain. When he was 19, he joined the army. He fought in a conflict known as the Rif War.

Francisco Núñez Olivera was a very strong person. When he was 90 years old, he had a kidney removed. Later, at 98, he had an eye operation for cataracts. He also fought in the Spanish Civil War, which means he was a veteran. People sometimes called him "Marchena." This nickname came from a famous singer named Pepe Marchena, because Francisco looked a bit like him.

On August 11, 2017, the oldest man in the world at that time, Yisrael Kristal, passed away. After this, Francisco Núñez Olivera became the oldest living man. He held this title until he died on January 29, 2018.
