Frederick, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg (born December 10, 1652 – died August 3, 1692) was a nobleman from Denmark and Germany. He was the oldest son of Duke Ernest Günther and Duchess Auguste. Frederick became a duke himself, which was a very important title.

Early Life and Family

Frederick was born into a powerful family called the House of Oldenburg. His father was a duke, and his mother was a duchess. Being the oldest son meant he would likely take over his father's role one day.

Becoming a Duke

In 1689, Frederick became the Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. This happened after his father passed away. He took on the important job of leading his territory.

Short Reign and War

Frederick's time as duke was quite short. He ruled for only three years. He died in 1692 during a big conflict called the Nine Years' War. This war involved many European countries fighting against France.

Marriage and Successor

Frederick was married to a woman named Anna Christine Bereuter. They did not have any children together. After Frederick's death, his younger brother, Ernest August, became the next duke.
