The Frederick Daniels House is a special old house located at 148 Lincoln Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was built around 1885. This house is a great example of the beautiful Queen Anne style of architecture.
It was once the home of Frederick H. Daniels. He later became the president of Washburn and Moen, a very important company in Worcester. This house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, which means it's recognized as an important historical building.

What Does the Frederick Daniels House Look Like?
The Frederick Daniels House is found northeast of downtown Worcester. It's in an area called Brittan Square. You can find it on Lincoln Street, just south of Perkins Street.
How Was the House Built?
This house has 2-1/2 stories. The first floor is made of brick. The upper parts are made of wood. The roof is complex, with many gables.
The ground floor has cool decorations. These include terra cotta panels and sandstone. The windows on this floor have rounded tops. The upper floors are covered with different materials. These are clapboards and decorative shingles.
What Are the Special Features?
The house has porches on both the first and second floors. These porches have fancy posts. The posts have carved wooden brackets at the top.
The main entrance porch is on the left side. It has a "starburst" design above its stairs. You can also see another starburst design above a window on the first floor facing the street.
Who Was Frederick Daniels?
The Frederick Daniels House was built around 1885. Its first owner was Frederick Daniels. At that time, he was a supervisor at the Washburn and Moen Wire Company. He started from humble beginnings and worked his way up.
Later, Frederick Daniels became the president of the company. He also became a director for U.S. Steel. This was a very large steel company. He was also a director at a local bank.
