Frog Jump is a small, unincorporated community located in Gibson County, Tennessee, United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's known for its unique and fun name!
History of Frog Jump
The area we now call Frog Jump had a different name a long time ago. It was first known as Davis Springs.
In the early 1900s, a local person named Everett Hall gave it a new, more interesting name. He called it Frog Jump and Lightning Bug Center. He chose this name because there were so many frogs and lightning bugs living in the low, wet areas nearby. Over time, people shortened the name to just Frog Jump, which is what we call it today.
