The Fuerte de la Concepción (meaning Fort of the Conception in English) was an important Spanish military fort. It was built to protect the port and town of Aguadilla in Puerto Rico. This fort was active during the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, only one building from the original fort still stands. In 1986, this remaining building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This means it is recognized as a special historical site.
