How Fuji Food Started
Fuji Food Products began as a family business in 1990. It started in San Diego, California. At first, they supplied sushi to local supermarkets in that area.
By 1998, Fuji Food Products started providing their sushi to bigger supermarket chains. This helped their products reach more people. By 2017, their sushi was available in most states across the United States.
Today, Fuji Food Products has more than 500 employees. It is the largest company that provides and distributes pre-packaged sushi in the United States.
In April 2011, Fuji Food Products bought another company called Okami, Inc. Okami, Inc. made different types of ethnic meals.
In 2019, Fuji Food Products had to close their facility in Brockton, Massachusetts. This happened after some of their products were recalled from stores like Trader Joe's. A recall means a company asks for products back because there might be a problem with them.
