Fujio Yamamoto (山本 富士雄, Yamamoto Fujio, born May 27, 1966) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. After his playing career, he became a coach. He is currently an assistant head coach for the J2 League club Renofa Yamaguchi.

Fujio Yamamoto: A Football Journey
Fujio Yamamoto was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on May 27, 1966. He grew up loving football. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he started his professional football journey.
Starting His Professional Career
In 1990, Yamamoto joined a club called Mitsubishi Motors. This team later became known as Urawa Reds. He played as a defender and showed his skills on the field.
In 1992, the old Japan Soccer League changed. A new, exciting league called the J1 League was created. However, Yamamoto didn't get many chances to play in the new league.
Moving to New Teams
In 1993, Yamamoto moved to a team called NKK. This club was part of the Japan Football League. He played in many matches for NKK. Sadly, the club was closed down at the end of the 1993 season.
After NKK disbanded, Yamamoto joined Bellmare Hiratsuka in 1994. This team had just been promoted to the top league, the J1 League. He continued to play for Bellmare Hiratsuka until he decided to retire from playing at the end of the 1996 season.
His Achievements
During his time with Bellmare Hiratsuka, Fujio Yamamoto was part of a winning team. They won the Emperor's Cup in 1994. This is a very important football tournament in Japan.
After retiring as a player, Yamamoto continued his involvement in football. He became a coach, sharing his experience and knowledge with new players. He is now an assistant head coach for Renofa Yamaguchi, a club in the J2 League.
