Funmi Jimoh, whose full name is Oluwafunmilayo Kemi Jimoh, is an American athlete. She is best known for her amazing skills in the long jump. Funmi was born in Seattle, Washington, on May 29, 1984. She has competed in many big events, including the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Before becoming a professional athlete, Funmi went to Rice University. While there, she competed in both the long jump and sprinting events. One of her sprinting events was the 100-meter hurdles.

Funmi Jimoh's Olympic Journey

In July 2008, Funmi showed her incredible talent. She jumped 6.72 meters (about 22 feet) at the U.S. Olympic Trials. This event took place in Eugene, Oregon. Her impressive jump helped her qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

At the Olympics, Funmi competed in the women's long jump. In the first round, she jumped 6.61 meters. This jump was good enough to get her into the final competition. In the final round, Funmi placed eleventh. Her best jump in the final was 6.29 meters.

At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Funmi jumped 6.34 meters. This placed her 21st in the qualifying round. She did not make it to the final competition that year.
