Fuzzy's Taco Shop is a popular American restaurant chain. It's known for its delicious Baja-style Mexican food. You can find Fuzzy's Taco Shops in over 150 locations across 17 different states! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so there's always a good time to grab a taco.
How Fuzzy's Taco Shop Started and Grew
In 2001, a person named Paul Willis, with help from Chef Steve Mitchell, opened the very first Fuzzy's Taco Shop. It was in Fort Worth, Texas, close to Texas Christian University.
In 2003, Chuck and Alan Bush bought the company. They opened a second restaurant in 2007. After that, they started letting other people open Fuzzy's Taco Shops as franchises. This helped the company grow very quickly! Many of these new shops were near college campuses at first.
By 2012, Fuzzy's had opened its 50th location. Just four years later, in 2016, they celebrated their 100th shop! Around that time, a company called NRD Capital Management bought a big part of Fuzzy's Taco Shop.
In early 2019, Fuzzy's grew to more than 150 locations. Today, you can find their restaurants in many states. These include Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, South Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.
Fuzzy's Taco Shop also planned to have over 200 locations by 2021. In 2022, they announced plans to open shops in Alabama and North Carolina. Later that year, in December 2022, another big company called Dine Brands bought Fuzzy's Taco Shop.
