Gérard Faier, known as Gérard Majax, was born on April 28, 1943. He is a famous French illusionist. An illusionist is someone who performs magic tricks to entertain people. Gérard Majax has shown his amazing skills in many television shows, live magic acts, and movies.

Gérard Majax and Unexplained Claims

Gérard Majax is not just a magician; he also likes to investigate things that seem unexplainable. From 1987 to 2002, he worked with scientists Jacques Théodor and Henri Broch. They were part of a group at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis that studied claims of strange or supernatural events. Together, they helped lead something called the International Zetetic Challenge. This challenge encouraged people to show proof of their unusual claims.

The Mystery of the Rotating Table

In the 1990s, Gérard Majax appeared on a late-night TV show. He demonstrated a trick known as the "rotating table." This trick was often presented as a "supernatural phenomenon." In the demonstration, people from the audience stood around a round table. They placed their hands on it, and the table appeared to lift and spin on its own.

However, a video recording of this event showed how the trick was done. Some of the people helping with the trick had small metal hooks hidden in their jacket sleeves. When they put their hands on the table, these hooks secretly gripped the underside of the table. This allowed them to lift and move the table, making it seem like magic. Gérard Majax used this demonstration to show how such "supernatural" events could be simple tricks.

The Hallucinoscope

In the year 2000, Gérard Majax created something very interesting called The Hallucinoscope. This invention is a special system that creates a virtual reality experience. What makes it unique is that it works without any electronics. When someone uses The Hallucinoscope, it gives them the feeling that they are floating or walking above the ground. It's another example of how Majax combines science and illusion.
