GB DIY Store facts for kids
GB DIY Store is a company based in the United Kingdom. It helps people fix their windows and doors. They sell many different parts, tools, and supplies for uPVC windows and doors. uPVC is a strong plastic material often used for windows and doors. GB DIY Store sells these special repair parts to both regular people and businesses. It is the biggest company in the UK that sells these parts directly to the public.
How It Started
The story of GB DIY Store began in 2002. A person named David Rourke started a company back then. This first company made and put in new double-glazed uPVC windows and doors.
In 2012, David's son, Nathan Rourke, joined the business. Nathan had a new idea. He thought they should start selling window and door parts online. This way, more people could buy what they needed.
The online store became very popular. By 2015, it was doing so well that the company made a big decision. They stopped making and installing windows and doors. Instead, they decided to focus only on selling parts online. They also opened a local shop for builders and tradespeople.
In 2017, the company changed its name and look completely. That's when it became known as GB DIY Store, the company we know today.
