Gail Garvey is a Kamilaroi woman. Her family comes from a place called Moree in western New South Wales. She used to be a professor at the Menzies School of Health. Now, she is a professor at the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

Gail Garvey's Journey in Education
Gail Garvey started her career as a teacher. She earned a degree in Physical Education in 1986. Later, she got a Master's degree in Research in 2000.
In 2016, she earned her PhD from Charles Darwin University. For her PhD, she studied how cancer affects the minds and feelings of Indigenous Australians.
