Galimatias facts for kids

Galimatias, whose full name is Matias Saabye Køedt, is a talented electronic music artist from Denmark. He was born in the small town of Fredericia. Today, he lives and works in Los Angeles, USA. He is widely recognized for his 2015 music project, an EP called Urban Flora. He created this project with the American singer-songwriter Alina Baraz.

His Musical Journey

Galimatias started working with Alina Baraz in 2013. They met online through a music platform called SoundCloud. Their first songs together quickly became popular on music blogs.

All their joint songs were later put together into an eight-song EP. This collection was named Urban Flora. It was first released digitally in 2015 by Ultra Records. A year later, in 2016, a vinyl record version was released by Mom + Pop.

One of their songs, "Fantasy," was remixed by Felix Jaehn. This remix became very popular and appeared on many dance music collections. After Urban Flora came out, many well-known publications praised it. These included The Fader, NPR, Earmilk, Dancing Astronaut, and The Huffington Post.

On June 15, 2017, Galimatias released a new song called "Let Me Know." In an interview with Complex, he shared his thoughts. He explained that even though he hadn't released new music for two years, he was still making it. He also mentioned that he took a break from social media. People wondered if he was still active. Galimatias said he was definitely not gone. He added that he always wants to create new sounds. He doesn't want to make the same music twice. It took him a while to decide what to do after Urban Flora. He has high standards for his music. Creating something new and unheard is one of his top goals.
