Gallavants is an animated musical film from the United States. It came out in 1984 and was made by Marvel Productions. You could watch it in movie theaters or at home on video.

The Story of Gallavants

The film is about special ants called Gallavants. They live in their own fairy-tale world named Ganteville. When they are young, Gallavants go to school. This helps them get ready for their adult lives as working ants.

One young Gallavant, named Shando, doesn't think he needs to study or work hard. He believes he can find his purpose in life without it. But Shando soon learns that things are not that easy.

He goes on many exciting adventures. Shando's main goal is to earn his "kabump." A kabump is a special bump on a Gallavant's back. It shows that they are a full-grown and important member of their society.

During his journey, Shando faces many challenges. He has to rescue a lost Gallavant egg. He also needs to be smart to outwit a creature called a Vanterviper. This monster is a two-headed worm-like animal. It loves to eat Gallavants and their eggs!

Shando also finds a small, bouncy, and mysterious ball. He thinks it might be his kabump. But it turns out to be a runaway egg that changed after being in the light.
