Genevieve Nicole Padalecki, born on January 8, 1981, is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows. She played Kris Furillo in the series Wildfire. She also had a recurring role as the demon Ruby in the popular show Supernatural.

For a while, her acting credits sometimes used the name Genevieve Cortese and sometimes Jennifer Cortese. Since February 2011, she has consistently been credited as Genevieve Padalecki.

Genevieve Padalecki's Early Life

Genevieve Padalecki was born in San Francisco, California. She grew up with two brothers, Johnny and Ben, and a sister named Sarah. When she was 13, her family moved to Montana. Later, they moved again to Sun Valley, Idaho.

She studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. There, she earned two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in drama.

How Genevieve Started Acting

Before she appeared on television, Genevieve performed in many plays. She acted in local theater productions. Some of the plays she was in include A Midsummer Night's Dream, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Crimes of the Heart, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

In 2008, Genevieve was chosen for a recurring role in the TV series Supernatural. She played the character Ruby. This role was previously played by another actress, Katie Cassidy. On the set of Supernatural, she met her future husband, Jared Padalecki.

On September 14, 2020, it was announced that Genevieve would join the cast of Walker. This show is a reboot of the classic series Walker, Texas Ranger. In Walker, she played Emily Walker, the late wife of Cordell Walker. Her husband, Jared Padalecki, played Cordell Walker in the show. The series first aired on January 21, 2021. The show finished after four seasons in 2024.

Genevieve Padalecki's Family Life

Genevieve met actor Jared Padalecki while they were both working on the TV show Supernatural. She played a recurring role as Ruby. Later, she even made a guest appearance in the sixth season of Supernatural as a fictional version of herself.

In October 2009, Jared proposed to Genevieve. He asked her to marry him in front of their favorite painting. This painting was "Joan of Arc" by French artist Jules Bastien-Lepage. It is located at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Their engagement was announced in January 2010. The couple got married on February 27, 2010. The wedding took place in Genevieve's hometown of Sun Valley, Idaho.

On October 10, 2011, Genevieve and Jared shared exciting news. They announced they were expecting their first child. Their son was born on March 19, 2012. On December 22, 2013, they welcomed their second son. Their daughter was born on March 17, 2017. Today, Genevieve and Jared live in Austin, Texas, with their three children.
