Georg (born February 20, 1518 – died May 17, 1569) was a ruler known as the Count Palatine of Simmern-Sponheim. He held this important position from 1559 until his death in 1569.
Georg was born in 1518. His father was Johann II, Count Palatine of Simmern. In 1559, Georg's older brother, Frederick, became the ruler of a larger area called the Electorate of the Palatinate. When Frederick moved to this new role, he gave Georg the lands that their father had passed down in 1557.
Georg married Elisabeth of Hesse on January 9, 1541. Elisabeth was the daughter of Landgrave Wilhelm I. Georg passed away in 1569. After his death, his younger brother, Reichard, took over as the ruler of Simmern.

Georg married Elisabeth of Hesse. She was born on March 4, 1503, and died on January 4, 1563.
