One of George Crawford's most famous projects involved Simon Fraser. Fraser was trying to prove his right to a very important title and land called the barony of Lovat. He hired Crawford to dig deep into old records and find information to support his claim.

Crawford's research was very thorough. Many people believe that his hard work and findings were key to Simon Fraser winning his case. However, even after Fraser won, he did not pay Crawford for his efforts.
