Starting His Football Career
George Lebese was born in Mamelodi, South Africa. He started playing football when he was young. His first teams were Jusben and Khona Lapho. Later, he played for Arcadia Shepherds.
Playing for Top South African Teams
In 2008, George joined Kaizer Chiefs. This is one of South Africa's biggest football clubs. He played for them for many years, until 2017. After that, he moved to another big club, Mamelodi Sundowns, in August 2017.
George also spent some time playing on loan for SuperSport United. A loan means he played for them for a short period. He left Sundowns in September 2019.
Playing in the United States
In 2020, George Lebese moved to the United States. He joined an American team called Colorado Springs Switchbacks. He played for them during the 2020 season. In March 2021, George left the team. He returned to South Africa due to travel difficulties.
Representing South Africa
George Lebese also played for the South African national team. This team is often called Bafana Bafana. He was first chosen to play for his country in November 2011. His first game for South Africa was against Ivory Coast on 11 November 2011.
