George Luttrell facts for kids
George Luttrell (born 1560, died 1629) was an English politician. He came from Dunster Castle in Somerset. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Minehead. This was a special type of area called a "pocket borough." His family had a lot of influence there.
George was the oldest son of Thomas Luttrell. His mother was Margaret Hadley. He also had a younger brother named John Luttrell.
George Luttrell married twice. His first wife was Joan Stukley. They married in 1580. Later, in 1622, he married Sylvestra Capps. George had many children, five sons and nine daughters in total. His oldest son was Thomas Luttrell.
George Luttrell served as an MP for Minehead in 1582 and 1584. He was also the Sheriff of Somerset in 1593 and again in 1609. The Sheriff was a very important local official.
