Georgia Byng (born September 6, 1965) is a British author who writes books for children. She is also an illustrator, actress, and film producer. Since 1995, she has written thirteen children's books. She also helped write and produce one movie.

Byng has won several awards for her books. These include the Stockton Children's Book Award and the Sheffield Children's Book Award. Her books often feature magic and adventure. Early Life and Education

Georgia Byng was born in London, England, on September 6, 1965. She grew up in a village called Abbots Worthy, near Winchester. She has three brothers and one sister. Her brother, Jamie Byng, is also well-known in the book world as a publisher.

Georgia went to several schools, including Princess Mead School and Nethercliffe School. From age 12, she attended Westonbirt School, a boarding school for girls. Later, she studied at Peter Symonds College. From 1984 to 1987, she went to the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Acting Roles

Before becoming a full-time writer, Georgia Byng worked as an actress. From 1989 to 1990, she appeared in a few television shows. These included Screen Two, Dealers, and Capstick's Law.

Writing and Illustrating Books

Georgia Byng's first published book was a comic strip story. It was called The Sock Monsters. It was about tiny monsters who live in houses and eat people's socks. She also wrote and illustrated Jack's Tree, another comic book. This story was about a boy who saves a tree from being cut down.

Her next book was The Ramsbottom Rumble. It was a short novel about two boys who save their grandmother.

After the Molly Moon series, she wrote Pancake Face and The Girl with No Nose. In 2023, she released Albi, the Glowing Cow Boy. This illustrated novel is for kids aged 8 to 12. It's about a calf who becomes super-smart and escapes a farm. Like her other books, this one travels across the world. Albi teaches about being kind to all living things.

In 2015, Georgia Byng worked as a producer for the movie Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism. This film was based on her first book in the popular series.

Georgia Byng has three children. She was married to Daniel Chadwick and they had one daughter. Later, she married artist Marc Quinn, and they had two sons. She is now engaged to musician Guy Pratt.
