Who Helped Build It?
The idea for the Georgia National Fairgrounds came from two important people. They were Representative Henry L. Reaves and Representative Larry Walker. A "Representative" is someone elected to speak for the people in a certain area. They work in the government to make laws and help their communities.
The Reaves Arena
Inside the fairgrounds, there's a large building called the Reaves Arena. It has seats for 8,250 people. An "arena" is a big space used for sports, concerts, and other performances. This arena is named after Representative Henry L. Reaves. It opened in 1990, the same year as the fairgrounds. Today, it hosts many local sporting events and concerts.
