Georgiana Marion Craik was born in April 1831. Her birthplace was Old Brompton, a part of London, England. Her father was George Lillie Craik, and her mother was Jeanette Dempster.

In 1886, Georgiana married Allan Walter May. He was an artist.

She passed away in St Leonards-on-Sea when she was 64 years old. This was on November 1, 1895.

Georgiana Craik started her writing career early. She began writing for a famous magazine called Household Words. This might have been as early as 1851. Household Words was a weekly magazine. It was started by the famous writer Charles Dickens.
