Gero Bisanz (born 3 November 1935 – died 17 October 2014) was a German football coach and player. He is most famous for leading the Germany women's national football team. Under his guidance, the team won the UEFA Women's Championship three times.

Early Life and Playing Career

Gero Bisanz was born in Konojady, Poland, in 1935. He grew up with a passion for football. He played as a Midfielder during his career.

Playing for Top Clubs

Bisanz played for two well-known German football clubs. From 1959 to 1960, he was part of 1. FC Köln. After that, he moved to Viktoria Köln, where he played from 1960 to 1969.

Coaching Various Teams

Bisanz started his coaching career in the early 1970s. He coached Bayer Leverkusen from 1971 to 1973. Later, he led TuS Lindlar and the amateur team of 1. FC Köln. He also coached the Germany B squad.

Leading Women's National Team

Gero Bisanz became the coach of the Germany women's national football team in 1982. He held this important position for 14 years, until 1996. This was the most successful period of his career.

Winning European Championships

Under Bisanz, the German women's team achieved great success. They won the UEFA Women's Championship three times. These victories happened in 1989, 1991, and 1995. This made Germany one of the top teams in women's football.
