Gerry Lynn was an Australian rules footballer. He played for the Hawthorn team. He was born on August 24, 1955. Gerry passed away on June 11, 1992.
Gerry Lynn's Football Career
Gerry Lynn began his football journey at the Warragul Football Club. He was a type of player known as a "rover." He then joined the Hawthorn Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL).
Gerry made his first VFL game in 1974. He played against North Melbourne. He also played one more game that year. In 1975 and 1976, Hawthorn was a very strong team. They reached the Grand Final in both of those years. Gerry played one senior game in each of these seasons. He also did very well in the 1975 Gardiner Medal. This medal is given to the best player in the VFL reserves competition. Gerry finished second in the voting for this award.
Later Life and Passing
In 1992, Gerry Lynn was involved in a plane crash. This accident happened in a town called Moormbool West, Victoria. He was traveling to a harness-racing meeting at Ouyen. Four other people were also in the plane.
