Gert Hermod Nygårdshaug was born on March 22, 1946, in Tynset, Norway. He is a well-known Norwegian author. He writes many different types of books, including poems, stories for children, and novels for adults. He is especially famous for his crime novels that feature a character named Fredric Drum. Fredric Drum is a food expert and an amateur detective.
Gert Nygårdshaug's stories are often inspired by his wide knowledge and his travels, especially in South America. He loves learning about old cultures and archaeology, which is the study of ancient things. He also enjoys fly fishing, learning about different foods (gastronomy), and wine. These interests often appear as themes in his exciting novels.
In 2004, a film company from South Africa called Lithium Entertainment bought the rights to make movies based on some of Nygårdshaug's books.
