Gizmondo facts for kids
The Gizmondo was a special handheld video game system. It was like a portable computer you could hold in your hands. A company called Tiger Telematics made it. The Gizmondo had some cool features for its time.
It could connect to the internet using something called GPRS. This let you browse websites. It also had GPS, which is like a digital map that shows you where you are. Some games even used the GPS feature!
The Gizmondo also had a camera to take pictures. You could send text messages and multimedia messages, which included pictures, videos, and music. It could play different kinds of music files, like MP3s, and video files, like MP4s. Of course, it could play video games too!
When the Gizmondo Was Released
The Gizmondo first came out in the United Kingdom in March 2005. It cost about £229. Later that year, on October 22, 2005, it was released in the USA.
Some of the games made for the Gizmondo included Agaju: the Sacred Path, Colors, and Chicane.
In February 2006, the company that made the Gizmondo stopped making the system.
