Glasgow City Mission was started in 1826 by David Nasmith. It was the very first "City Mission" of its kind in the world.

How They Help

The City Centre Drop-in

The Glasgow City Mission has a centre in Crimea Street that is open every weekday from 10 AM to 8 PM. They serve lunch from 1 PM to 3 PM and dinner from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Staff and volunteers are always there to help people who are homeless or struggling with money.

Child and Family Centre

The Child and Family Centre in Govan, Glasgow, has been helping children and families since 1986. It has become a very important part of the local community. The Centre runs a pre-school nursery for about 40 children. It also has a group for over 25 toddlers and their parents. There is also a playgroup for toddlers. The Centre offers classes and advice to help parents. Special play and nursery workers run the centre, and many volunteers also help out.
