Glendon, Ohio facts for kids
Glendon is a small, quiet place in Fayette County, Ohio, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
A Look Back at Glendon's History
Glendon has an interesting past. At one time, it was known by a different name: Rattlesnake! Yes, that's right, Rattlesnake.
A post office was opened there in 1889, and it was also called Rattlesnake. This post office helped people send and receive mail until it closed in 1904.
By 1910, the community, then known as Glendon (or sometimes Glenden), had about 25 people living there. It was a very small settlement, but it was a home for those early residents.
