Glenn Jones is famous for his songs like "Show Me," "We've Only Just Begun (The Romance Is Not Over)," and "Here I Go Again." "Here I Go Again" was a huge hit, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard R&B charts in 1991 and 1992. Another popular song of his is "I've Been Searching (Nobody Like You)."

Glenn Jones's Music Career

Glenn Jones began his singing journey in gospel music, which is a type of religious music. He sang and recorded with a gospel group from Florida called the Modulations. After some time, he successfully moved into the world of R&B music.

His first recording in R&B was in 1980. A musician named Norman Connors asked Glenn to sing on a song called "Melancholy Fire." This song was part of Connors' album, Take It to the Limit. "Melancholy Fire" was released as a single song and became quite popular, reaching number 20 on the Billboard R&B chart. The Billboard charts show which songs are most popular in the United States.

Early Albums and Hits

After touring with Norman Connors, Glenn Jones signed a deal with RCA Records in 1983. This is a big record company that helps artists release their music. In the same year, he put out a small album with five songs called Everybody Loves a Winner. One of the songs from it, "I Am Somebody," became a top 30 R&B hit.

His first full-length album, Finesse, came out in 1984. The song "Show Me" from this album was very successful, reaching number 3 on the R&B charts. Another song, "Bring Back Your Love," also did well, reaching number 18 on the R&B charts.

In 1985, Glenn started working on his third album for RCA, which was released in 1986 and called Take It from Me. The main song from this album was even featured in a movie called Youngblood.

Moving to New Labels

In 1987, Glenn Jones moved to a new record company called Jive Records. There, he had another big hit with "We've Only Just Begun," which reached number 2 on the Billboard R&B chart. This song was the first single from his album Glenn Jones, released in 1987.

His last album with Jive was All for You. It reached number 27 on the R&B album charts. Some songs from this album, like "Can We Try Again" and the title track, were produced by a famous music producer named Teddy Riley, who was just starting to become well-known then.

In 1991, Glenn Jones signed with Atlantic Records. That same year, he released the album Here I Go Again. The first song from this album, "Here I Go Again," was his only song to reach number 1 on the R&B charts. Another song, "I've Been Searchin' (Nobody Like You)," was also very popular, reaching number 8 on the R&B charts. His album Here I Am was released in 1994 and included a song called "Round and Round," which reached number 24 on the R&B charts.

In 1993, a British girl group called Eternal sang their own version of Glenn's 1990 song "Stay." Their version became their first single and was very popular in the UK and the US.

Later, Glenn Jones released the albums It's Time in 1998 and Feels Good in 2002. While these albums were not as successful on the charts, Glenn Jones continues to be a respected R&B and soul singer.
