Goalball at the Summer Paralympics facts for kids

Goalball is a unique team sport created for athletes who are blind or have very low vision. It has been a part of the Paralympic Games since 1976. Before becoming an official sport, it was shown as a demonstration sport in 1972. In goalball, two teams of three players try to throw a ball with bells inside into the opponent's goal. Players wear eye masks to make sure everyone has the same level of vision, or no vision at all. This makes the game fair for everyone.
