Grahamville is a small place in McCracken County, in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government, like a mayor or city council. Instead, it is managed by the larger county it is part of.
The Story of Grahamville
Grahamville was first planned and mapped out in 1877. A man named Zelotes Clinton Graham created the plans for the community. He decided to name the new place after his own last name, Graham.
Later, in 1888, a post office was opened in Grahamville. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. It was a very important building for the community at that time. The Grahamville post office stayed open for many years, until 1909. Sometimes, the community was also called "Grahamsville."
