Grażyna Krzanowska grew up in Poland. She loved music and decided to study it seriously. She attended the State High School of Music in Wrocław. There, she learned how to compose music from her teacher, Tadeusz Natanson. She finished her studies in 1976.

After finishing her music studies, Grażyna Krzanowska started teaching. She took a job at the Bielsko-Biala Music School. She married another composer and musician, Andrzej Krzanowski. He played the accordion. Grażyna and Andrzej often worked together on music projects.
