A street view in Greenbank

Greenbank is a lovely neighborhood located in the southern part of Edinburgh, Scotland. It sits between the areas of Morningside and Oxgangs. This means it is just a little to the southwest of central Morningside.

This area first started to be built in the late 1800s. Most of the building work was finished by the early 1930s. An old hospital, once called the City Hospital, closed down in 1999. After that, new homes and apartments were built on Greenbank Drive. Some of these new buildings even use parts of the original Victorian hospital buildings. This new part of the neighborhood is now known as Greenbank Village.

Greenbank Parish Church was started in 1900 in Edinburgh. It was first part of a different church group called the United Presbyterian Church. The very first church building is now used as one of the church's halls.

The church joined the Church of Scotland in 1929. This happened just after a new main church building was constructed. In 2001, a special hall was built to celebrate the church's 100th birthday. Several other meeting rooms were also added at that time.
