Gregg, Missouri facts for kids
Gregg is a small place located in Newton County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially part of a city or town. Instead, it's looked after by the county government.
The Story of Gregg
The community of Gregg got its name from a local person known as Mr. Gregg. He was a prospector, which means he explored the area looking for valuable minerals.
A post office was opened in Gregg in 1892. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. However, the post office didn't stay open for very long. It closed down in 1906.
