Gregor Aichinger (born around 1565 – died January 21, 1628) was a German composer. He was known for his beautiful church music. Aichinger spent most of his life working for a very rich and powerful family in Germany.
Gregor Aichinger's Life
Gregor Aichinger became an organist in 1584. He worked for the wealthy Fugger family in Augsburg, Germany. An organist is someone who plays the organ, a large musical instrument often found in churches.
In 1599, Aichinger traveled to Rome, Italy. He stayed there for two years to study music. Even though he had become a priest before working for the Fuggers, his trip to Rome was mainly for musical reasons. Many people admired his music. They said his style was very sincere and skillful.
