Gregory Victor Babic (born October 16, 1963 – died January 12, 2013) was an Australian writer. He wrote both true stories (non-fiction) and made-up stories (fiction).

About Gregory Babic
Gregory Babic was born in Melbourne, Australia. When he was just a baby, his family moved to Sydney. He lived there for most of his life. Later, in 2010, he moved to Orange.
He went to Sydney Boys High School and finished in 1981. After high school, he studied at the University of Sydney. He also went to the University of New South Wales. He earned a special diploma to become a teacher. He was considered one of the best new teachers in New South Wales. In 1993, he started working for the New South Wales Department of Education and Training. He taught subjects like English and History in high schools around Sydney.
His Time in the Police Force
Before becoming a teacher, Gregory Babic worked briefly for the Australian Federal Police. This is Australia's main police force. He was a Constable, which is a police officer. He was even the leader of his training class. He won an award for being excellent in law practice. However, he soon realized that being a police officer was not the right path for him. He decided to leave the police force to finish his education. He then became a teacher instead.
His Books
Gregory Babic wrote several books. He wrote two non-fiction books for students. These books were called Study Success Know-How and Film Study Terms. They were published by Five Senses Education.
His third non-fiction book was Words to Inspire Writers. This book was like a calendar filled with famous quotes about writing. It was made to help writers feel motivated every day. He later made this book available for free online.
He also wrote fiction books. His first novel for young adults was called The Profile. He also wrote a thriller for adults called The Last Loose End. This book was inspired by his own time in the Australian Federal Police. Both of these novels are now out of print.
Gregory Babic passed away in 2013.
