What Does It Look Like?

The sparse flowered grevillea is a medium-sized shrub. It usually grows to be about 0.3 to 1.5 meters (1 to 5 feet) tall. Its branches are not covered in a waxy, bluish layer.

Leaves and Flowers

The leaves of this plant are simple and flat. They are shaped like a cylinder and are not divided into smaller parts. Each leaf can be 10 to 60 millimeters (0.4 to 2.4 inches) long. They are also quite narrow, about 1 to 2 millimeters (0.04 to 0.08 inches) wide.

The plant blooms from July to September. It produces beautiful red or pink flowers. These flowers grow in clusters called racemes. The styles, which are part of the flower, can be orange or pink.

Fruit

After the flowers, the plant forms fruit. These fruits are wrinkled and shaped like an oval. They are smooth and grow to be about 13 to 16 millimeters (0.5 to 0.6 inches) long.

Where Does It Grow?

You can find Grevillea sparsiflora in a specific area of Western Australia. It grows between Mount Ragged and Twilight Cove. Mount Ragged is located east of Esperance.

This grevillea likes to grow in different places. It can be found on sand dunes and limestone cliffs. It also grows in woodlands where Eucalypt trees are common. The plant prefers sandy and loamy soils.
