Grogan was situated on a hillside. This hill overlooked the North Prong of the Jacks Fork River. The town was about eleven miles east-northeast of Cabool. It was also roughly eleven miles south-southeast of Houston. These locations show it was deep in the Missouri countryside.
What Was Grogan's History?
Grogan had a post office that opened in 1897. A post office was very important for a town to connect with the outside world. It allowed people to send and receive letters and packages. This post office served the community for many years. It finally closed its doors in 1954. The town itself was named after J. E. Grogan. He was the person who originally owned the land where the town was built.
