Grzegorz Walasek, born on August 29, 1976, is a famous Polish motorcycle speedway rider. Speedway is an exciting motorcycle sport where riders race special bikes on an oval dirt track. Grzegorz has competed in many big races, including the Speedway Grand Prix series. He has also proudly represented Poland in international competitions 15 times.

Grzegorz Walasek's Speedway Journey

Grzegorz Walasek started his professional speedway career in 1993. He joined the ZKŻ Zielona Góra team in Poland. In 1997, he became the Polish Under-21 Champion. This was a big achievement for a young rider.

In 2000, Grzegorz began riding in the UK with the Poole Pirates team. He continued to show his talent. In 2004, he won the main Polish individual championship. This meant he was the best individual rider in Poland that year!

Grzegorz was also a key part of the Polish national team. He helped Poland win the exciting Speedway World Cup twice. These victories happened in 2005 and again in 2007. For his amazing sports achievements, he received the Golden Cross of Merit award in 2007. This is a special honor in Poland.

In 2015, Grzegorz returned to ZKŻ Zielona Góra for his third time with the team. He also extended his contract with the Rospiggarna team in Sweden. That same year, he signed to ride for the Leicester Lions in the Elite League in the UK.

Competing in World Championships

Grzegorz Walasek competed in 22 Speedway Grand Prix events. These are the highest level of individual speedway racing. He reached one final race during his Grand Prix career. Overall, he scored a total of 138 points in these tough competitions.
