Guachinango is a town and a municipality in Jalisco, a state in central-western Mexico. The name "Guachinango" is pronounced "gwah-chee-NAHN-goh".

People and Population
Guachinango is home to many people. In 2020, the total population of the municipality was 4,199. The main town of Guachinango had 2,124 residents. This means that about half of the people in the municipality live in the town itself.
A Glimpse into History
Guachinango has an interesting past. In the 1540s, Spanish explorers found gold in the area. This discovery led to the start of gold mining. People began to dig for gold, which became an important activity for the region.
