Guillermo Molina: A Baseball Player
Guillermo Molina was born in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up loving baseball, just like his father, Tinti Molina, who was also a famous player in the Negro leagues.
Playing in the Negro Leagues
Guillermo Molina started his professional baseball career in 1929. He joined a team called the Cuban Stars (West). The Negro leagues were special baseball leagues for African American players. This was because, at the time, players of color were not allowed to play in Major League Baseball. The Cuban Stars (West) were one of the many exciting teams in these leagues. Molina played for them for two seasons, in 1929 and 1930.
Guillermo Molina passed away in Chicago, Illinois in 1997 when he was 86 years old.
